I Interupt This Quilt Blog One More Time......

My solo static line jump!!
My landing was horrible but I am standing up letting everyone at the drop zone know I'm Okay. I came up a bit short and was not in the landing zone.......
We had a ways to go back to the landing area and was good to have a chat with my jumpmaster.

I clipped these photos from a video and right before this laugh was this conversation:
Me: "Did I have a look of pure terror in my eyes?" Jumpmaster: "There was pure fear there". Then we both laughed.... To see how you static line from a small plane feel free to check out this youtube video. (fast forward to 55 seconds and this is not me, just random video) I freaked out a little when I first saw it. I need to work on my technique for sure!!
On the ground, safe and sound.

Exciting. Fun. Scary.

  2. I watched the video. OMG! I think the scary part would be just getting out the door of the plane and hanging onto the bar. When do you go again?

  4. You did it and you are alive to tell about it! Both big accomplishments.
So the purpose of the static line is to cause the chute to open right away?
I am so impressed, Lori--I would probably still be cowering in a corner of the plane. : )

  23. Good for you! My mom (who is 91 now) went skydiving when she was 59 and renewed her flying skills when she was 69. Somehow I am still not tempted...I'm 61 and happy to just fly in planes :-)
