I made this quilt when I only knew how to do the buttonhole stitch. It's an oldie from Jan Patek.
I did not plant these but they all grew in my garden! I usually buy a few mixed gourds to decorate with and I am assuming the seeds were in my compost pile, which I used in my garden. You know, if I would have planted the seeds they would NOT have grown! lol
My entryway.
I adore this! Designed by JoAnn Mullaly and published in Primitive Quilts magazine. I change his coveralls depending on the season.
My SIL is staying at our house while we are gone and I'm hoping she likes the guest room I've fixed up for her.
PA Plenty. It doesn't read "fall" but I needed it out where I could enjoy it on a daily basis.
Hubby and I celebrated 32 years of marriage this week!! He is so supportive of my crazy endeavors. We are looking forward to many adventures ahead.
I'm hoping to post a few photos on Instagram of our trip. If you'd like to follow me my user name is loridej.
Hugs to you all.
Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary! I know your SIL will be comfy in that wonderful guest room...I certainly can picture myself all curled up with a good book.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I've never seen another Rise and Shine quilt before except for the original Country Threads! I made it way back when it was on the cover of one of the first Quilt Samplers--1996. How fun to see yours! Mine is currently hanging in my kitchen.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your anniversary - hard to believe 32 years! Love the tour thanks. And I love your gourds - what a great variety of shapes and colours! I bought some a few years ago to make an arrangement and most of them dried crisp in the bowl! So I still have them - faded but pretty.

I love the many Autumn quilts you have shared. The one on the guest bed look a lot like the one on Fons and Porter Magazine this month. Safe Travels on your Anniversary trip! I'm not far behind Our 37th is around Thanksgiving time. I really need a VACATION this year.
ReplyDeleteAh, to have a guest room again...miss having one and your's is beautiful.
ReplyDelete32 years? You two were just babies when you got married.
Have fun on your trip. HOw long will you be gone?
And is that a Sue Spargo quilt on the wall in the guest room?
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful trip! Your home is beautiful with all the fall decorations and quilts!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary and here's to many more. Thank you for sharing you fall quilts with us.
ReplyDeleteDo you have any idea how wonderful that old Bernina 830 is? I got my grandma's when I first started quilting 20 years ago and it was already 20 years old. She actually both it the same month I was born. I had to retire it a few years ago. The Bernina repair guy said it was time. I had replaced the motor twice, the brushes twice, the pedal once, and two walking feet. I still miss quilting on it sometimes. They are still very valuable selling for more money now than my grandma paid in 1972. Enjoy that treasured sewing machine, they don't make them like that anymore!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!!! Instagram is so much fun!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! Have a great trip. Your house looks so warm and welcoming. The guest room looks perfect. She may never leave. LOL
ReplyDeleteLove all your wonderful quilts displayed around your house, esp. the blue/gold flying geese one! Congrats on acquiring the Bernina. My mom had that same model and used it hard for well over 30 yrs.!!

I'm amazed at how much mine has learned about quilting and he is very supportive too. It makes it so nice. You must have been really young when you got married - I was too!

ReplyDeleteHi Lori, what a fabulous guest room, it looks lovely ! So many beautiful things to look at. I remember that pattern, I think it was Cindy Blackberg and I think it was a bit beyond my skills at the time. I want to get that pattern out and start it now !
ReplyDeleteYour home looks so inviting. You have a nice array of quilts and knick knacks. I really like the blue and cheddar quilt. Your Scarecrow quilt is cute too. I love it all.
