Recently a reader of my blog, Donna, shared this quilt with me. She saw it on my blog and I sent her a swatch of fabric and this is her masterpiece! It was designed by Cindy Blackberg and you can get info HERE. (I'm not sure how current it is)
She got word recently that it got juried in to International Quilt Festival Chicago and will be hanging at the Houston show! I'll be sure to get a photo with it Donna! It is gorgeous!
I thought I'd share my friend Laurie's quilt here again.
And my simple quilt started in 1999 after it graced the cover of AP&Q.
I hope you had a great weekend! We had a small superbowl party yesterday and had a fun time.
My daughter and I have booked our flight to Italy and I spent a bit of time looking at Airbnb's. Sicily is sure different than the rest of Italy! I'm going to be meeting up with Rina, who has been a blog reader/online friend for a couple of years now. It is always better to see a city with one who lives there! Super excited!!
Make is a great week!
Gorgeous! I love your version too!
ReplyDeleteand........this quilt by Cindy Blackbird is featured in this months American Patchwork and Quilting magazine, for their 25th anniversary issue. So kudos to Cindy, and all the others who have made and shared this lovely quilt!

I just bought the April 1999 issue of American Patchwork & Quilting on ebay for 99 cents---so they are still available on ebay, etsy and on QuiltingBoard. The quilt is a stunner!
DeleteI've been drooling ..... gorgeous, gorgeous quilts!
ReplyDeleteOh I've always loved this quilt ! They are both beautiful.....

ReplyDeleteIsn't this a gorgeous quilt? Wow! What beautiful work thanks for sharing with us -- very inspiring hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteI just pulled that pattern from this months AP&Q and have it in my "to make someday" folder! I may have to make a smaller version just to get it done more quickly.
ReplyDeleteThe quilts are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt is a fabulous quilt. Just in case you hadn't seen it; it is on the cover of the new American Patchwork and quilting as a redo from the first issue that it came out in 25 years ago. When I first saw your quilt, I thought that maybe you were just showing yours from that original time But instead, you are going to Houston. Woot Woot! and Whopee! I will look forward to seeing it there.
ReplyDeleteDonna's quilt will be in Houston. I'm pretty sure most of the quilts I make would never make it in that show!
DeleteThat really is one of my all-time favorite quilts that you did! Wish I could do curved piecing!!
ReplyDeleteits a good one!
ReplyDeleteThis quilt blew me away when I saw it on the cover of APQ ! I love it! Not sure I have the patience! How long did it take you? Beautiful quilts !
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful quilts! I love the design and the color combo too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous quilt. I love the pattern and the colours. Both yours and Donna are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteStunning quilts! Italy/Sicily...hoping to get there someday. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteI saved this pattern from 1999 and i still have not made it. When I saw it on cover of recent issue, knew I needed to pull old pattern and move it to the front of the list. My problem is that I have so many quilts on my list, I will never be able to leave the sewing room!
ReplyDeleteBoth quilts are fabulous. Beautiful work, colors and fabrics.
ReplyDeleteThis is Danice from Homespun Hannah's Blog. Both quilts are fabulous. Beautiful work, colors and fabrics.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of those quilts I used to drool over. I just love the colors and that striking design!
