Friendship Quilts- Cheri Swap

My swap quilt from France arrived last week! My partner was Betty (see the quilt I made her HERE) I love her friendship quilt!! Thank you Betty!
The "rules" actually said please add no extras, but Betty is a rule breaker, I guess!! LOL I will treasure the little extras too!!

These are crazy times and we need to follow the recommendations and stay well. We also need to keep a sense of humor.

About that snow....

These robins obviously haven't gotten the word about social distance!!

This one was actually fluffed up IN the rose bush, just chillin'.
I'm not sure what Elsa is thinking.

Big announcement on Wednesday! Let's stay connected during these trying times.

Much love

  1. Very sweet quilt. And yes, these are crazy times, but we will get through them because we are caring and giving quilters. Looking forward to Wednesday's announcement. We can all use a little uplift. Happy quilting.

  4. Yes internet connecting is a lifesaver during this troubling time...[if you get a chance read Michele's post today at "With Heart and Hands" so uplifiting...]

Our State is just about closed down now: no school, bars and restaurants closed, only travel for medical or supply reasons...I hope you and yours stay safe hugs, Julierose
P.S. I LOVE that little swap piece--just adorable work...;)))

  5. What an adorable little doll quilt, just imagine some little girl receiving that lovingly made gift from her mother for Christmas 150 years ago! Our younger citizens are finally learning what really constitutes the essentials of life, and a little of what previous generations endured in times of trouble and epidemics. May this crisis bring us together to uplift each other rather than tear one another down, to share what we have with those in need, attending to the needs of those in our circle who are elderly or disabled. With the grace of God we will emerge from this troubled time stronger and with a renewed sense of unity. Stepping down from my soapbox now.

  6. Loved the analogy of life written by a 4th grader! So true. I feel like all the FUN is being sucked out of the world right now.

  7. what a sweet swap quilt you got. And I do love the Brown Betty you sent. My GF and I always chuckle about Brown Betty's because we think the same on the ratio of apple to crumble to ice cream!

  8. Adorable swap quilt. And don't 4th graders make everything interesting? We haven't had the snow yet but would certainly like that part of the story to come true here.

  13. Love your little quilt and the way that she quilted it. I wonder where she got the pattern for the little primitive lady ornament, it's precious. We have snow here too. Not a lot, we're only getting about 1/4" total, supposedly.

  16. What a lovely friendship quilt, some quilts do show the love one has put into it.
Looks like it is still cold in your neck of the woods. Spring here, all the bulb fields with tulips and daffodils are so pretty. Too bad no visitors are allowed.

  19. Good morning from Michigan. All in quarantine too, well I'm still working as I work at a doctor's office. Love all the time at home to quilt these days though. Lori do you think your friend Betty would mine if I copied her quilt? If yes I will respect her wishes. Thank you, stay safe all and don't go out unless you have to!
