Block #2 is not sewn but ready to start.
This seems to be the best method to find what fabric I want to use. HeeHee Good thing I can leave that for a few days.
Wide open desert spaces! Keeps me sane.
If my daughter doesn't get any financial aid soon(like disaster unemployment) it is likely she will need to store all of her apt in a storage unit and stay with us till this thing blows over.
I've been encouraging her to stay the course and not come home because we are exposed to many people every day (even with social distancing) and she has been so good at isolating. But we aren't seeing any alternatives right now. I hope you all are doing okay.
If your state starts to open up, remember you don't have to go out!
Stay safe! The block you have laid out is going to be spectacular!!
ReplyDeleteLovely block--we will be staying at home and not going out any time

Saludos
Beautiful Coxcombe block! You're getting so much done on all your projects, good for you. Years from now you'll look back at this quiet yet productive time.
ReplyDeleteMy heart just breaks for young people like your daughter who have worked so hard to establish good careers and all is lost now.

I just love your quilt along, and your fabric selection method is perfect! I am afraid we are opening for business too soon here...scary times we live in.
ReplyDeleteI love the fabrics you have chosen for this. It's going to look so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI like the plaid combo of fabrics you have used in this block. I often work from a pile of fabrics and don't feel that I have to put it away every day.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I intend to keep staying at home for a while to come even though Georgia's governor is set on opening some up. It's a hard line to walk between safety and income for some folks. Hope your daughter gets some relief soon. I am so grateful that I can leave things spread out also. Of course, I do have to break down every once in a while and put things away and clean up down here.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colour choice ~ such difficult times indeed, we are a family business here in Melbourne, with our son & daughter working for us, we have had to reduce our staff's working hours. But we do get some help from our government, re: JobKeeper wage subsidy, which is to enable employers to hold onto staff, instead of standing them down.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to your daughter, with getting financial help.
Hope your daughter will get help. We all watch the news and see the things going on in your country, it makes me said.
ReplyDeleteWe are in isolation almost 6 weeks now and we are not there yet. Stay home and stay safe!
Said must be sad.....
ReplyDeleteThis is what I do with wool when color planning. I pick out the possible ones and mix them up on the floor or table and then you can see what it would look like all together. Great for getting the ones that won't work out. I never thought to do this with quilting but I will now. Love the fabrics you chose.
ReplyDeleteMy heart grieves for your daughter and all those in similar situations. Your block is lovely.
ReplyDeleteI love your block and your pile of fabric. 😊 I’m not going out for a long time! I have several risk factors and I’m over 65. My daughter-in- law and my son pick things up for me and I do grocery delivery so I’m good. I have enough fabric and one stash to last a good while. I hope things get better for your daughter soon. This is really hard for so many people. You take care and be safe. I live vicariously thru you hikes and beautiful scenery. Hugs,
ReplyDeleteI am loving your block. I hope your daughter's situation turns around soon. It's just really sad that people are having to make these kind of decisions. Take care and stay safe.
ReplyDeleteFantastic block! I really love the sight of your plaid fabric on the floor though. Wish I had that many plaids in the stash!:)
ReplyDeletegreat block. I'm sorry for your daughter. Millions of young people are facing this crisis.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are encouraging people to stay safe, especially the elderly and compromised.
