I haven't sewn a stitch this week! It was only a 4 day week, but to add to that my hubby had cataract surgery, so I was the designated driver. All went well- so far. He only had his surgery yesterday.
I made my first trip to Costco, which is less than a mile from the surgery center. They've got it working like a well oiled machine, don't they? They were one of the first businesses in Central Oregon to require masks and because of the amount of people, it really is impossible to stay 6 feet away from people while shopping. Because everyone is wearing a mask it is a level field. Nobody judging for wearing a mask, or not wearing a mask. We need to offer grace to each other. We have no clue what another person is going through.
Now for a couple of funnies:
I was prepared with an organized list. Haha, can you tell it has been awhile since I've been out of town!!??
I completely stocked up on my regular items. I don't want to go back anytime soon! I've always been pretty good at cooking meals at home, but I think we've only gotten take out 3x.
After hubby's surgery he wanted lunch and a beer. It was our first time eating out together since restaurants have opened up on a limited schedule and spacing.
So that's my exciting world this week.
Ready for an amazing giveaway?!
I admit I was disappointed when Lizzy, Gone to the Beach, said she would not be able to participate in the Humble Quilt swap this year. I told her I wanted me to be her partner. (I don't generally beat around the bush much!) She told me she had 2 quilts she would send me. I could keep both or do a giveaway on my blog.
I thought this virus was going to be 2 weeks in, then done. I told her, yeah, maybe when we are through this quarantine I'll have a giveaway!
Well, we are still under quarantine, but life is slowly adjusting out of complete lockdown.
ITS TIME FOR A GIVEaWAY!
Here's the gorgeous backing!!
Thank you Lizzy for your generosity.
Please go give her some bloggy love HERE
Please leave a comment and if you aren't sure if you are a no reply blogger or not, please leave your email address so I can contact you. I'll draw next Friday.

ReplyDeleteLizzy is a precious soul, and puts her heart into every quilt she makes. It's a generous giveaway on her part and yours. I do hope your hubby's cataract surgery is totally successful and he regains 20-20 vision in that eye. Will he need the other eye done soon?
ReplyDeleteSweet little Quilt. Love it. Yes, Costco has enabling costumers to spend money down to a science. I think the mask wearing is great as it makes it safer for those with health issues. I try to be respectful of all and wear one always when in public or around anyone but I do not like them and hope the day comes when it will be OK not to wear one.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty quilt. I love it! I checked out Lizzie's blog. Mo looks like a fun little dog.
ReplyDeleteLove the little quilt, her work and her blog. Beautiful all.

What a beautiful little quilt! I love the red and the Baptist fans!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful little quilt! Costco is a dangerous store. I always spend much more than expected.
ReplyDeleteThanks for featuring my quilt, Lori. Yes your info is correct, early Stars collected when you did your Quilters Matter/ Madder project and repurposed very antique red, turkey red. Quilted by Lori Cangemi. It was made before the current pandemic but to me the Stars and tiny cheddar block [only modern bit of fabric] represent kindness and hope for the future. I didn't wash the finished quilt, tho I may have rinsed it in cold water. As you know one of my main quilting focuses has always been reworking antique textiles. I hope the winner enjoys my little quilt.
ReplyDeletei'd like to throw my name into the hat too - I enjoy star quilts -
ReplyDeleteTwo of my favorites, red and Baptist fans. What a cute special quilt. We are in the process of moving into our first home, as we are first time buyers. Yesterday was my 73rd bday. Never too late. Anyway, I unpacked from storage, a small chair and put a special bear on it. I told myself, I need to make a small quilt to add to the chair. This would work great. Have a great day
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely quilt which I would be proud to own if given the chance.
