How's everyone doing? Winter has come to Central Oregon! More snow and very cold temps are the name of the game right now.
I picjked up this lovely lady in Ohio several years ago.
I love everything about her! I had my friend, Kat, send it because there was no way I could check it or carry her on. She was worth it!
I don't get to see my daughter often enough, especially with the covid bs. She is a hairdresser and is being responsible about exposure and she gets the same from her clients. We were able to meet about halfway and go for a snowy hike. I brought the gear, she brought the soup.
Mirror lake on Mt Hood. We tailgated with hot tea and hot soup on returning to my car. It was fun and so good to spend time with her.
The following weekend we had to say goodbye to our dear Porter. He was 14 and such a good dog over all those years! This photo was in a magazine. I remember my hubby laughed at me because I put a photo of me and Porter and not me and my husband! LOL
Elsa is being extra needy, so we are accommodating her. We are all very sad and feel a big part of our family missing.
The day after we went out to the trails to get some much needed fresh air.
I posted on Facebook and Instagram and feel your love with your kind and caring comments. No need to comment again, but I needed to share it here on my space.
Much love
Very sorry for your loss. Our animals are a very important part of the family. Hugs.
ReplyDeletesorry for your loss....pets do become like family...
ReplyDeleteLove that doll and love seeing you and your daughter - beautiful smiles. And I am so sorry for your loss. I am honored to have met Porter and Elsa and I know they have been an important part of your family and your heart.
ReplyDeleteNice to create unique memories with your daughter during this crazy time. I am lucky that we are including my daughter, her hubby and their daughter in our circle and we are all vigilant! I am the only one working outside the home and it is in a very safe environment and only once or maybe twice per week. Hard not to see the other kids much though we have risked the youngest son twice. Oldest lives with his wife and her six kids and one grandkid..all go to school, a few to work, they have had Covid run through once. So hopefully in the Spring when the weather is nice we will get to see them! They are six hours away but we could do a park or something outside!
ReplyDeleteMy sweet Lucy (recuse dog) in 11 years and we are facing the same situation. She is not in pain but can not walk. We we are holding on. I'm sure Porter was much loved and very missed.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for the loss of your furry friend. We just faced the same situation with our 19 year old cat in August. It was hard. But feel comforted in knowing they had a wonderful love-filled life with you.
ReplyDeleteOh Lori, I am so sorry to hear about Porter. There is nothing more I can say. Our animal friends are so dear to us and I feel for you. I am happy that you got to spend some time with your daughter. I'm sure it is hard for her too. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteOh so sorry for you loss. I love that your magazine photo was of you and him, not your husband! Too funny! Glad you got to hike with your daughter - it looks gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about Porter. I always loved seeing pics of you out on the trail with your dogs. Glad you could get together with your daughter for a winter trek and treats :)
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for your loss. Our Lady mourned the loss of her brother for several weeks after he passed. Then she realized she was top dog and recovered! I still mourn both of them. Looks like a lovely place to hike!
ReplyDeleteLosing a beloved pet is SUCH a hard thing! It always leaves a hole where they used to be.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for your family and for Elsa as she misses her companion.
Porter probably spent more quilt time with you than your hubby! Nice photo and good memories.
ReplyDeleteSo very sorry for the loss of your sweet dog. Hugs to you and Elsa💓
ReplyDeleteI’m so sorry about Porter. Thank you for letting us know. I am glad that you could be out in the fresh air with your family.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear that you had to let Porter go. I think saying good-bye to a beloved pet is one of the hardest things we have to do. Hugs to you.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the loss of your dog. We lost one last summer, and know what you are going thru.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great angel--love her crazy quilt dress.
ReplyDeleteQuality time with your daughter. Sounds like fun!
A tender tribute to Porter. Our four-footed family members make holes in our hearts when they leave us.
I'm so sorry you are missing your sweet old boy Porter. What a loss. It's so hard to lose a beloved pet. I always enjoyed seeing photos of Porter and will continue to enjoy seeing Elsa. It's nice you could spend some time with your daughter out in the fresh air.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture of you and Porter. I can imagine your grief and Elsa's too. They can really miss there buddy so much.
ReplyDeleteYour hikes look so pretty in the snow. I wish all the rain we are having could turn into snow.
What great memories with your daughter! Inspires me to go out for a walk, which is about all I can do since breaking my shoulder 5 days before Christmas. And no - all my decorations were not up.
ReplyDeleteSo very sorry to hear about Porter. Pets are family too and such a great loss when they're gone.
Oh no! I hope you are on the mend!!
DeleteOur pets are such sweet buddies and members of our family.
ReplyDeleteOh ! So sorry ...hugs x
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about Porter, we are watching our older dog decline in health. They are precious.
