My sampler arrived from Two Thimbles! WOW! Love these "Repro Reds" by Cheryl Johnson.
I've continued to take the old quilt apart and love seeing the blocks up close and personal!
I love that tiniest little zigzag print!
Some of you have received blocks from this quilt top that has seen better days.
I think the maker would be thrilled to know we are honoring her humble quilt and using the fabric she chose to put in this quilt top. I know I'm thrilled with these blocks! I hope you are too!
I mentioned adventures last Friday; Wow! Was it ever!
We hiked up by Mount Adams in WA state.
Then we hiked a little closer. (glacier lake!)
We could hear Adams glacier booming and crashing at night.
Second night we were lulled to sleep by Killen Creek and waterfall.
So hard physically but so refreshing for the mind.
I hope you are having a great week!
Wow that is a gorgeous place and such wonderful photographs! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful adventure! Nothing like physical exertion to refresh the mind.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous pictures of your hiking adventure. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful. The mountains and glacier are stunning but my favorite is the waterfall.
ReplyDeleteI love studying the old fabrics. I like that dainty floral. I got the reds too, love them but more brick red than my fave bright red.
The old quilt blocks are fun to see, and the sights on your adventure look amazing!!
ReplyDeleteOh those reds! Looks like a fabulous place to hike and explore
ReplyDeleteNatural beauty - so rugged and stunning! I can almost feel the fresh air seeing your photos! The old fabrics are so great! And your new reds are softly beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI just love all those great old fabrics and the fact that you are resurrecting them for new and wonderful things. Why did I not jump on board with this old block challenge ? I don’t know. I’m looking forward to seeing the results, though.
ReplyDeleteYour new fabrics are GORGEOUS! Cheryl designs wonderful fabric. The weekend hike looks like a lot of fun and chilly. I just love walking away the cold, amazing how quickly one warms up while hoofing along.
ReplyDeleteThose are awesome quilt blocks, love them. And your weekend looks amazing! I have to confess that I didn't know we had a glacier here in the states - well, other than Alaska. What an incredible weekend of hiking! Jan in MA
ReplyDeleteLove to get your blog
ReplyDeleteThank you Irene!
