Blue and white quilts always remind me of the snowy mountains in Central Oregon!
I put them on display when the Christmas quilts come down.
Totality 2017
WE SOLD OUR BUSINESS! Papers were signed on Saturday!
We will continue to run the Machine Shop. The work load for paperwork and stress will be so much less! It all happened a little earlier than we anticipated, but the opportunity could not be passed up.
This is why I mentioned a few posts ago that I will be having more time to sew and create!
I'd love to visit your guild, in person or Zoom and lecture or teach a class or do both! I'm hoping to put myself out there a bit more this year!
Thank you for your patience on my non quilty blog posts. Selling the business has taken a few months and this past week was a whirlwind with cleaning up stock and doing inventory. I cleaned out my desk....so strange! I was hired by my father in law when I was 17 and worked on and off since that time. We had a big family gathering the Saturday after Thanksgiving (which I hosted for the other side of the family!) to celebrate the closing of this chapter. Cory's dad, George, started this business in 1955 and he would be so proud!
George DeJarnatt descendants. All 26 of us made it to celebrate!
Let's have a great week! I want to get the fall quilts and pumpkins replaced with Christmas decor!
Much love.
Congratulations on the sale! I'm sure your father-in-law would be proud to know the business will continue to serve the community.

ReplyDeleteWe have lived in this community for for 56 years. All of our auto parts have been with Madras Auto Parts. Congratulations to you Lori, Cory and your family. Bitter sweet for us, especially if you move away. But, just having sold our farm recently, I know it is a good thing for you to retire early. I wish we could have retired younger.
ReplyDeleteQuestion; were you dating Cory when you went to work there? Or was it love in the work place?
We appreciate you and Jerry, Dotha! We were dating, then George hired me!
DeleteSo excited for this next chapter in your life. Whoot!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for an enjoyable and satisfying next phase of your life! More time for quilting activities sounds ideal!😊

ReplyDeleteYour family picture makes my day! I am a genealogist and that multi generation photo speaks to me. Be sure and put all names on the back for the generations to come.
