A week ago we were waking up in Portland. Our daughter was in a serious car accident on her way home from Central Oregon.
It has been a challenging week but every day gets a little better.
At the ER after the crash.
Test, test, test... 2 fatalities in this crash (Not an "accident"- a teen driver being erratic and dangerous caused this)
My daughter was 138 years old! Wow! Who knew! haha
There was dash cam footage caught on video. My daughter is in the center of this mayhem.
What we saw as we came to the crash scene.
Getting personal stuff out of her car at the police impound lot. I'm not a fan of EV only, but Tesla has a very high safety rating and I am grateful for that! Not only did the regular airbag deploy but knee bags deployed as well to protect you from getting trapped or losing lower limbs.
It was difficult because the other 2 cars were there as well. Two young people, married less than a year lost their life. We mourn with their families.
I went back up into Portland to just hang out, offer support and do a ton of paperwork. This is the rooftop- a good place to get vitamin D.
She is doing a lot of this, which is good for her body and brain to heal. We praise God the only known injuries were a concussion and body banged up.
Friday night they had a little live music playing next door so we went for a little stroll around the neighborhood.
It was really nice.
She stayed at her boyfriend's condo and I stayed at her cute little studio apartment. It was comfortable and worked out great.
Make sure to stop and smell the flowers and let others know you love them!
I love you all and appreciate your support so much!
Oh my - a shocking message. Yes, smell the roses along the way. A good reminder to be thankful for our daily blessings. But there still is the dreadful sadness for others.
