Most of you have seen these blocks. The top two are ones I made recently for a workshop!
Once you have the foundation you can make any circular block and make is spectacular!
My first workshop with this block is next week!
The center block is the pattern we will be making.
With a bit of guidance I was able to make this back in 2017.
And this is the center block of my Cousins Walk quilt. (now completed!)
The class will take place in Redmond, Oregon hosted by High Desert Quilt Guild on February 27th. Send me an email if you are interested. I think there may be room! humblequilts@gmail.com
I received my first shingle vaccine last week and it kind of through me for a loop!
Not excited for shot #2! A week later and I have hives near the injection site. No wonder I'm not excited to get vaccinated! hahaha I hear shingles is pretty terrible, so I weighed my options.
Will be prepping for 2 workshops this week!
I've got dates available if your guild or quilt group would like me to visit. I also do zoom for "trunk shows" Please pass my name along!
Have a wonderful weekend.
I'm so glad you got your shingles shot! I had shingles 14 years ago and wound up with postherpetic neuralgia, which is where the pain from the shingles doesn't go away. The first place I had it was my trigeminal nerve in my face and around my ribs , both on my left side. I've had shingles 9 or 10 times since, all on my left side and now almost all the nerves on the left side of my body are painful to some degree. I've only had shingles once since getting the vaccine a few years ago, so that's a huge improvement! It's greatly affected my life, I had to stop working, cut down on my quilting, knitting, etc because the pain makes it hard to concentrate, you'll be happy for the inconvenience of the shot if you don't have to deal with shingles! It really is as excruciatingly painful as they say!
ReplyDeleteMy girlfriend mentioned one of their employees got nerve damage from shingles. I'm sorry you had to go through that and are still experiencing symptoms!
DeleteI remember the first Eclipse circular block and how you found it a bit of a challenge. And now you are teaching it yourself. You're awesome.
ReplyDeleteI have heard the shingles vaxx x 2 is very rough going. I was told I cannot have it bec live vaxx/ autoimmune issues. [as I recall, may be wrong tho]. No one suggested it yet, thankfully.
Feel better.

Yep, shingles is a terrible disease - always painful and sometimes results in chronic pain. The shots are more like inconvenient, no comparison.
