I made a quick trip to Missouri recently.
Kansas City was a breeze to fly into and out of and Hertz was amazing! (no need to stand in line! Go directly to your car)
Backroads are always fun to drive on!
I stopped at a large antique mall and below are a few quilts I saw.
Can't go wrong with a nine patch!
This was beautiful! The block was fairly small.
The quilting was exceptional.
Jessica is moving and was having a living quilt estate sale! Laurie and I went to her house last year and did a bit of shopping. Check that post HERE. So I knew what I was getting into!
Martha Sparks came to help Jessica. I met her and worked with her a bit on the Oregon Quilt Documentation project in 2010. See that post HERE. It was wonderful to reconnect with her! All three of us have a love for quilt history, historical fabrics and quilts.
The night before the sale we met for a leisure meal. Great company. You know how some people you feel so comfortable with? That is Jessica and Martha!
Let's get this party started. These two worked hard! I shopped hard!
It was a whirlwind trip but so fun!
Love those old quilts! So what did YOU buy?
ReplyDeleteI didn't buy any quilts! Friday I'll share some awesome vintage fabric. My purchases will be going on a destash group or Etsy- https://humblequiltsbylori.etsy.com
