Here are my trees so far. This is likely the setting I will use. I'm thinking one more row of 3. These are big blocks, so no need for a giant quilt. More info on THIS POST.
I missed a month of making trees, but here are my June blocks!
Many of you have asked how my daughter is doing after her crash.
She called the other day and asked if I was able to meet up near Mt Hood for a hike. She was ready to get out of the city for some fresh air. I didn't mention it to her but this would be the first time driving by the crash scene. We talked about that on the hike and although she said she had to drive in the right lane and go slower, she was okay! She is having more good days than bad so that is progress! It is coming to the one year mark. I think getting the legal stuff behind us will be healthy. The DA is hoping to wrap up in July.
Here was our moody view of Mt Hood from Palmateer Point. You may recognize that name as one of my quiltalongs.
On another note, she and a friend are opening their own salon in Portland. Of course, we told her to put us to work!
This was dessert at a Cuban restaurant we went to. I thought it was awesome!
We did a little backpacking trip to a local spot. It was so lovely! This likely will be Elsa's last trip as it is getting harder for her to walk any distance. We took our time and gave her plenty of breaks. It seems like after she hurt her leg this past year she has never been the same. She is on meds, but they don't seem to be helping much. She is not quite 10 so she should have several good years left. Her mind is willing but her body is not!
Let's have an awesome week!
I too are like Zelda! The mind is willing but the body says” are you sure about this?” I have such intentions while lying in bed, but the mornings seem to fly by. Am starting a patriotic quilt this week. Hope to have completed by Labor Day. I work better with a goal. So glad your daughter is doing well. Good luck with the salon. Dotti in CT. We saw Mt. Hood on our American Cruise in April.
