Electric Quilt 8

I bit the bullet and upgraded from EQ7 to Electric Quilt 8!

Now I  need some time to play with it!

One reason that prompted me to upgrade was I had to write directions for a quilt I designed and struggled with EQ 7 a bit. I hear Electric Quilt 8 is a big improvement. YAY!

I designed a quilt and American Patchwork and Quilting is going to publish it! I was inspired by an antique (surprise! surprise!). I'll let you know more when I know more.

Let me know any tips or tricks you have for EQ8.

My week is going well and I hope yours is too!

Do you EQ?

I'm not very good at Electric Quilt program but use it a little, mostly for my quiltalongs. I like to see how it may look as an actual quilt and then I can change colors etc to make it closer to the original or closer to what I had in mind.

I just found recently Electric Quilt has a really terrific YouTube channel. I think I will be referring to it fairly often when I need a little extra help. Find it HERE

Here's a few quilts I've used EQ for

Almost Amish. You can find this pattern by using the search box on the upper left.

USED WITH PERMISSION FROM AMERICAN PATCHWORK & QUILTING®. ©2021 MEREDITH CORPORATION. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED

Strings Attached. You can find this pattern in the August 2021 issue of American Patchwork and Quilting

50 Shades of Brown was my 2020 quiltalong. You can do a search to find this pattern as well.

I'd love to know if you use Electric Quilt. Which version do you have?

Because I am out of town until next weekend I am approving comments because of the recent uptick in spam. I will respond when I return to town and your comments will be published.

Christmas Quilts

Sorry if I left the impression the quilts were staying on the banister. That was just a holding place while I took down my fall quilts and took out my anything that resembled a Christmas/winter quilt.
My newest, the Irish Chain, is going on my bed this winter.
My favorite, pomegranate is going on the guest bed. I've got plenty of room if you are in Central Oregon and want to come by for a visit.
My Kansas Troubles quilt needed a wash, but I left it in the washer, while it was wet! Aargh!! It is hard to tell by the photo but the white has a pink tinge.
I washed it again today in warm water with 6 color catchers. Yay! It's all white again!!
I'd like to make this block into a quilt for 2013. I can only find it as a single block in Electric Quilt. I put four blocks together to make this on a setting. Does this block have a name? Anybody know of a pattern? Any chance it is in a newer version of EQ? Thanks.

Twice as Nice

I am making the cowboy quilt for Ian, but decided that I couldn't make just one. The little girl is almost a step sister.(3 months apart too!) I think she'd like a cowgirl quilt.  I'm sewing away...on both of them but for now here's my Electric Quilt mockups.
My quilt is way scrappier and you'll have to look hard to see the stars.
Here's number 2 quilt. I wanted to keep the pieces fairly big and this one looks like it should do the trick.

I've received wonderful fabric from  Jody S, Marei, Sharon, Annette, Lane and Vivian. Barb from MI sent some but is taking a detour...... Thank you all so much for your generosity!!
