The day after my trunk show to Madison Station Quilters we had a fun class! 

String quilts your way allows participants to choose what string quilt they want to make. The quilters are so creative!

 

Such cool fabric.

She was taking a more modern approach. I hope she shares her finish with me!

So simple but so many ways to set these! I spy the makers pj fabric made by her mom when she was little. I also spy adult greens! lol 

A simple choice of solids packs a big punch!

The white was also the foundation. 

My fav- blue and lights!

Lots of layout options!!

This is such a unique quilt top from the 1940's. The pattern was in Kansas City Star. I've never seen this before and completely love it!

Here was a sweet quilt that David shared with me. A women brought it into the shop to get quilted. It was very charming!

I'm so sorry I cannot remember your name! Look at this wonderful string quilt that she had quilted with fans- perfect choice!

The more I looked the more sweet things I saw!

Such cute cowboy fabric. 

And spiderwebs?! What a mix of fun!!

Golden Valley Quilt Guild

I LOVE meeting other quilters in person! Zoom does in a pinch but there's nothing like being together physically with quilters!

Thursday night I presented a trunk show to the guild. They meet in Citrus Heights, CA.

Paula Harden met us for dinner and attended the guild meeting. You may know her on Instagram at LaLa Quilts  She is an extremely talented quilter so was thrilled she would want to meet me and see my quilts. 

Saturday we met for class (I'll give you highlights on Friday about the day between trunk show and workshop)

String Quilts Your Way

I love seeing what quilters want to make. Some easy, some harder, but there are many surprises with string quilts!

Here's the start of the design wall. 

It didn't take long to start filling up!

My hostess, Pam, on the right was the best! 

I had actually met Donna, center, in 2011 when I went with Bonnie Hunter on her first quilt cruise. Donna was one of the quilters who signed up!

Quilters generally are such good people! I had a lovely time.

String Quilt From Class

Laura, from the North Idaho Quilters Guild finished her quilt from class! Yay! I love it! She took random size strips and center pieces and made liberated log cabin blocks! Isn't it wonderful?!

The day after my birthday my daughter and I went on a wildflower hike on the Columbia River. 

It was amazing!

She even brought presents for me to open when we stopped for a snack! And she offered to bring it all back down in her pack too! `She is the best for sure!

Cory and I backpacked for a one nighter! It was beautiful but at 5500' elevation it was pretty chilly after the sun went down.
