Pillowcase Dress Finale

The title of this post says finale, but we all know these little dresses made by loving hands are just starting their journey!!

Thank you Cathy, Marian and Danice!!

And the very last 3 came from McEwen in PA. (no note or first name!) Thank you!!!

I told you last week I was packing today. So before work I brought the stacks in from the garage where I had been storing them.
Two friends came over and we started by separating them into small, medium, large and extra large.
We folded them and stacked  them in piles of 10, then I put them, by size into space bags.
I had to pull a few tricks to get them all situated  and not go over 50 pounds per bag. I also had 50 new testament Spanish Bibles,  a pile of beanie babies,  a few school supplies, hygiene items, and toys. Well, I'm going to need to find a couple of other team members from Central Oregon to check bags for me.

My things? Well, I'm taking my bag as carry-on only. It should be easier to pack for Bolivia than it was for France. I'm not leaving until October 25th, so have time to figure it out.

Are you wondering what the grand total of dresses were?

242!!!! So amazing! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! From the bottom of my heart!
Words can not express how overwhelmed I feel!!

I'm so excited to get there and start distributing! Other people are bringing things as well so don't feel sorry for those little boys.

Love to you all!

Quiltmania Bloggers Corner

Back in July I was asked if I'd like to submit some information to Quiltmania to be in the Bloggers Corner of the American version.  I was honored and said YES!
Right before heading out to France, or maybe while I was away, Paulette, sent me an email saying she had seen it. I was so excited!
It took another few weeks for me to find the online version and then I finally ordered the magazine so I could have it in my hands! I couldn't be more thrilled!!

My hubby was feeling a little slighted when he saw I had a photo of Porter, but not him! LOL
For those who have seen this and commented, thank you for your kind words. I'm humbled!

Have a wonderful week!

Time Warp Stars and Vintage Quilt Block

I haven't shown my Stars in a Time Warp blocks for awhile.

Cretonne, Lancaster blue, brown with blue and lace.

 Black, grey and Claret.
I wanted to see how many blocks I had. Here are 49

And 10 more. I'll be stopping soon....
I got this cute applique block from Mary Koval in Ste Marie, France. I loved how it was charming and chunky!

Any suggestions on how to repair this so I can use this block in a quilt?

I haven't been posting too much on Instagram, but if you missed it here it is.

Have a wonderful weekend!

European Patchwork Finale

I thought I had completed everything I was going to share about the trip to France, but I found a post that I had not published yet. Last one...I promise!

I saw some great antique quilts for sale by Jane Lury "Labors of Love". I'm not sure why she wasn't in the vendor area. It didn't seems like the antiques had a big following as this is an artsy kind of show. I knew my blog readers could appreciate the antique quilts.

When we left Alsace we went to........
Germany for a quick beer. Then on to:

The Museum of Printed Textiles in Mulhouse. It was amazing!

Look how tedious and complicated printing fabric used to be!

This was the center square where we parked for the museum. What lovely old buildings.

After that we made our way about 420km through France back towards CDG airport.

We stayed the night outside of Reims, which is champagne country. Of course, we had to try it!

The next morning we made our way back to the airport, dropped our car off and continued our adventure in Iceland. But you saw those photos yesterday That concludes my adventures to the European patchwork Quilt show! Thanks for your enthusiasm and kind words. It was very memorable!
