May Online Class

Used with permission from American Patchwork & Quilting magazine. ©2022 Meredith Operations Corporation. All rights reserved.

Haha, Are you tired of seeing this quilt yet??

Here's a little quilt that is more similar to the antique I was inspired by.

That sashing is wide and chunky and so cute with the baskets.

May 10th I will have an online class and I will walk you through my basket quilt assembly and hopefully you'll want to make a little one for yourself. In order to have the pattern you need to have the June 2022 issue (the most current) of American Patchwork and Quilting.
We will spend a little over an hour doing this and then I have an interview with Jody Sanders, editor of American Patchwork and Quilting, that I will be sharing.

Maybe you have a quilt you'd like to see published- Where do you start? What do you need to know? Will you get paid? How long will they have my quilt?

I learned a lot from Jody and I feel like this can be beneficial if you've ever even wondered how the process works.

If you want to sign up for the Zoom class that will take place on May 10th, 10AM-Noon, please send $10 paypal to Humblequilts@gmail.com (I also take venmo, cash or check- email for my mailing address)

What are you getting for $10?

  • 1 hour quilt basket making with me, including tips and tricks to machine applique and how to make 1/2 blocks and 1/4 blocks. I love them in antique quilts!
  • Interview with Jody, editor of American Patchwork and Quilting
  • A recording will be made and will be good for 1 week after the class for those who cannot make it during the week.

I really think it will be worth your time and money!
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Lori

Blue Baskets

Blue Baskets!
I always have these
"pinch me" moments when I see one of my quilts in print.
American Patchwork and Quilting really does a lovely job from start to finish!

Looks so lovely in this setting!

I'm a sucker for the half blocks. I was inspired by an antique quilt in scrappy colors. I had these precious indigoes, from friends, hand dyed by me and purchased. Thank you to all who contributed. The baskets are chunky and although the fabric looks a little modern, the pattern and baskets are in my humble style.

Here is the cover of the issue my quilt will be in. Look for it on newsstands or in your mailbox April 1st!

It's not too late to join my Zoom class tomorrow! Click HERE for details.

Have an amazing day!

Strings Attached

Good morning quilt friends!
I'm happy to be able to share with you today that I have another quilt published in
American Patchwork and Quilting magazine.

Here is my quilt
"Strings Attached"

I started the center of this when preparing for my string class via Zoom. I wasn't sure how the center block would be as a 12" block with strings.  I just loved it so much I continued to add to it! It is bright and vibrant and perfect for summer!

This is what the cover of the magazine looks like. This is Jody Sanders amazing quilt!

(Do I daresay I want to try this???!!)

The magazine hits the stands June 4th! I hope you'll look for it if you don't subscribe.

Thank you APQ/ They are so wonderful to work with.

This week is going good. My brother who I haven't seen since way before covid (he lives most of the time in China) is here for a visit.

Much love

Guess What? Published!! Tiny Stitches

Here's a little quilt I designed and will now now be out  in American Patchwork and Quilting magazine December issue, on newsstands in October!! It's called Tiny Stitches.

I was inspired by an antique quilt. I love that the center 4 patches are all acid green and cheddar! Who would have thought to do that?? It is darling!

This is what the cover is if you are looking for it! Please do!!

It's been awhile since I've had a quilt published in a magazine. AP&Q made is super easy! I may try it again soon!!

I hope your week is going wonderfully.

Quiltmania Bloggers Corner

Back in July I was asked if I'd like to submit some information to Quiltmania to be in the Bloggers Corner of the American version.  I was honored and said YES!
Right before heading out to France, or maybe while I was away, Paulette, sent me an email saying she had seen it. I was so excited!
It took another few weeks for me to find the online version and then I finally ordered the magazine so I could have it in my hands! I couldn't be more thrilled!!

My hubby was feeling a little slighted when he saw I had a photo of Porter, but not him! LOL
For those who have seen this and commented, thank you for your kind words. I'm humbled!

Have a wonderful week!
