The center of my jubilee quilt is appliqued! Now, to figure out what is next. This zig zag border is too big, so I have a plan B.  I'll use this border somewhere just not here.
Scandinavian Christmas has been neglected for awhile. The applique is done, just two more sides of cross stitch. Until I took the photo I didn't notice how horrible the little cross stitch block looks! oh my!!
Hopefully I'll be back later in the week to show you the next test border on the Jubilee quilt!!

  8. It's very difficult to get even crosses stitched on a plain weave fabric. Perhaps you will consider using a waste canvas. It's a grided 'fabric' so that you can easily cross stitch and after you're done, you damp it with a wet cloth and pull out the weave.

    Have a great week.

I like the Christmas project. It looks a bit primitive so I think the cross stitch will be just right!

  23. I love them both. Great idea to save that zigzag for later, but I wouldn't change a stitch on the Scandinavian Christmas.

  29. Wow Lori. My head hurts just thinking how complex this block is... are you underway with the other three? It IS going to be a traditional four-block applique isn't it??!! (hehe she says with an eveil laugh!)
