I've got one more block completed! Whoop! Whoop!
Still pretty slow going, but that's the way it is for now.
Some days I'm feeling just great.... riding the waves and then other days I feel like I'm crashing. I'm staying away from the news but get the daily Covid update for our county. We didn't have any cases for weeks now we are up to 85, which doesn't sound like a lot but we are very rural. I try and stress to our employees (and husband!) not to let our guard down! We have to stay vigilant! Spraying, wiping, cleaning, not touching credit cards, keeping our distance from customers. Overall, its stressful.
My stress reducer to get out in the fresh air and that's what I'm doing this weekend, starting today!
I hope you are practicing some self care this weekend as well.
Much love
I’m starting to feel the stress of this whole situation too. I live in NY and we are just starting to open stores. I live very rural which I think helps. The first 3 months, I sewed, which gave me goals and a sense of time. Not to whine, but planned vacations and outings have been cancelled too. It’s starting to get hard here too.
ReplyDeleteAren’t we lucky to have sewing and outside actives to help? I keep trying to focus on happy things but we didn’t think that retirement meant house arrest. Thanks for sharing.
beautiful blocks....sigh i too am avoiding the news and focusing on calm things...like quilting!
ReplyDeleteThe blocks are spectacular and slow is OK. It's hard and stressful keeping yourselves and your employees safe. My husband's business had one positive case last week, so they are all hoping that is going to be the only one. We are very rural too but the number just keep inching upwards.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blocks! I so admire all you quilters who have the patience to applique. I guess the only way we're going to get through this horrible time is to turn off all media and try to remain focused on the things that really matter and that bring us joy and peace.
ReplyDeleteYou are right. Now is not the time to let our guard down. We have a small population in our county but unfortunately there are lots of summer homes and vacation rentals here in the mountains. That brings in folks from all over. Then, we have day trippers from Atlanta who invade the roads on the Weekends. Stay safe and enjoy your outdoor time.
ReplyDeletevery pretty
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blocks. They look difficult to sew. Yes, the virus is so stressful,. I know how you’re feeling :(
ReplyDeleteFantastic. Looking great.
ReplyDeleteOh, your blocks look good! It must feel great to be making this progress!
ReplyDeleteI have felt like I was handling this whole thing pretty well, but not anymore. As our state has had record high new cases multiple times lately, and as the politics seem to become more of an issue than saving lives, I just want to hide somewhere. I've had enough of the "daily numbers," but hubby thrives on them, so I hear them whether I want to or not.
Your block is gorgeous! I love that white. I hope the fresh air works it’s magic :0)
ReplyDeleteGlad you are able to have some stress relief! This has been quite the year. Love how your blocks are coming together. That light blue fabric in the latest block is a fantastic choice!
ReplyDeleteThe number of cases in the US are terrifying, it is all over the news here too. We all know there is a way to increase the outbreak and yet people are not living up to it. It scares me! Keep safe and healthy!
ReplyDeleteThat is going to be such a cozy quilt when it's done. You do such beautiful work, Lori!
ReplyDeleteSo true, we cannot let our guard down. Alabama still has many cases of COVID. Your anniversary quilt is looking so good.
ReplyDeleteLoving your quilt blocks.
