Technical Difficulties

One positive thing, my son came over and helped me set up my 2 camera system set up so I can do workshops through Zoom. Because one is a new class for 2020 I had not been able to do it live before covid hit. Would any of you be interested in paying for a class for me to work a few bugs out? If I have enough interest I'll get it set up.

This is the class:

New for 2020!
String Quilts Your Way!
String quilts have been made since 1860. Most were foundation pieced for stability and ease of sewing. If you've ever wanted to make a string quilt but didn't know where to start, this class is for you. Each quilt will be unique as you will decide which quilt block or setting to use. A fun and informative class!

EMAILS:

On a lousy technical note, my computer updated and I am no longer receiving my email to my inbox! The last day I got it was 10/14. It looks like my messages are downloading but I have no idea where they are going. I've tried searching my entire computer and am at a loss.

The "lost" emails are your comments that you leave on my blog. I'm getting them on my phone, and I've started saving them to my server. It seems to be complicated. Please forgive me for not responding! I'm waiting for my son to come again and see if he can help me.

On a fun note: Every year Aurora has a contest for Halloween. I snapped a couple of photos of my favorite scarecrows!

We have snow predicted and temps below 20! Brrr....

Take care.

  3. Sometimes my comments go to my email and sometimes they don't. I have no idea how to fix it so I just live with it. That is great you have your son to help you out. I did have to text my son the other day because my iPod froze up. I know iPods are outdated technology, but I love mine. Anyway, my son knew what to do and it is working again.

  4. If the only emails you are not getting at blog comment emails, that is a New Blogger glitch, not a server glitch. Go to settings on blogger, remove your email for notifications save that; wait five minutes then go and put your email back in and save. That works sometimes.

I'd love to see your classes [if affordable], but not a string quilt class right now.

  5. Lori, go to all programs. Scroll down to Mail. This is likely the upgrade that changed your email. It happened to me :-( If it is, you can move that icon to your task bar for quick access until your son can redirect for you.

Hope that fixes it for you!

  6. Barbara at Cat Patches has recommended leaving the first comment on each blog post and checking the box that sends all follow-up comments to your email. I'm planning to try that on my next blog post and see if it helps.

  8. I would be interested in the class if it didn't cost too much. I would really like to see the quilt to the finish with quilting ideas. Would this be on Youtube? I will interested to hear more about your plans.

  9. Well... shoot. Google is being a butt. I tried to comment last night right after Lizzy! Still trying. Google logged me off every time I tried... so here it is again. YES would love to take a class. Need new twists and turns to keep my small group motivated. We also have extra days that were not used on our rental space due to Covid, so we have 3 make up days unless the Salem Dictator shuts down our county AGAIN. :( Love and appreciate all you share Lori, and all your hard work :) Blessings, Karen

  15. I miss the Halloween yard decorations found in cooler areas of the country. We see some in Florida but not nearly as much in more nortern states. I love travelling north in October to see all the fall colors and decorations. Here, carved pumpkins rot pretty quickly. You would have to wait until close to Halloween to do that and put it out on your porch.
