Quilting and A Glamping

Ever heard of Glamping? Its a mix of camping and glamour. Inside our large tent was a bed and a lot of amenities for those who may not like to camp. It was a lovely gift from our employees.
I'd like to point out on the empty chair is the 2021 Humble Quilts quiltalong that I am hand quilting!

On our way to our weekend of glamping we hiked to Green Lakes in the Three Sisters Wilderness.
This is South Sisters which is a popular mountain to summit. (I've done it twice)

Looking the other direction is Broken Top. All part of the Cascade Range.
There's Elsa cooling off in the lake too!

Not much quilt content going on in my life right now. When I'm not working I'm enjoying all the daylight hours of summer before it is over. I noticed already it is so dark at 8:30. Boo-Hoo.

Much love

  2. Love all of Oregon's mountain ranges. My dad had family in Redmond area, so we drove a lot of backroads. Makes me so homesick! Love your photos. Enjoy!

  4. I think glamping looks amazing! We used to take our kids camping a lot when they were little but twenty years later, I'm not really interested in camping, lol. You live in a ruggedly beautiful part of the country. Cute to see a glimpse of your quilting too.

Gorgeous shots--I love mountains reflected in the water.
Looking forward to the next quiltalong!

  7. More and more people are glamping here in the Netherlands too. It would be something I could do with my bad back in a normal bed….. but I would prefere doing it in your country with Mountain View’s. I am feeling a bit homesick not being able to travel to the country we love so much. It looks like you had a nice and relaxed time.

  8. I know the Three Sisters/ Sisters/ Bend area well. I have a brother and SIL in Bend, and I used to live in the Willamette Valley. Now I live in Alaska, and it is still light after 10pm. But, it is getting cooler, and it gets dark enough to sleep at night now.

  10. Wow, what a way to enjoy camping! And the scenery is breathtaking! We used to go tent camping when our kids were little, that is, until we found a converted school bus with combined living/dining/kitchenette area, bathroom, bedroom and space for our 2 St.Bernards. It was crazy!

  11. I'd camp more if there was a bed and a toilet really, really close.
