Retreat Finale

One final post!

Michelle was working on a baby quilt designed by Cheri. We all loved it and I'm sure baby and momma will too!

I made a bit of progress on my Liberty 250 quilt. I shrunk it from 12" to 10" And between my math and sewing, the blocks will now finish at 9.5"!

This flannel panel needs a good press! We all agreed there was no reason to cut up the panel as it was so darling. This is a charity quilt for my guild.

And Carrie made progress on her Lone Cabin quilt border. It needs one more border for the top to be completed.

This is Christy's center of the Peppermint Twist of Jo's. She was having a hard time getting everything to fit, so we helped! It is so charming!

Carrie and I have 4 bags we are bringing to Guatemala! Thank you to all who donated!

Retreat Week Part 2

Carrie shared her beautiful antique sampler with us! WOW!

Christy was the over achiever of the group! I love it!

I got all my blocks appliqued!

And my tree top together. There wasn't a good place to trim it and measure for the small border I am going to add. Maybe this week I'll get to it!! Shouldn't take much time at all.

I tried several reds and this one seemed the best.

The gangs all here! All of us had/have big events- Christy just became another great grandmother, this time of TWIN girls! Michelle is in the hospital today recovering from back surgery and Carrie and I are prepping to leave for Guatemala on Saturday! Was a good time to be together to encourage each other.

Love ya!

Retreat Week Recap

Three of us were able to start our retreat last week!

Christy's Chilowi (Quiltville mystery) was first up on her to-do list.

Carrie left her machine foot pedal so she was working on some visible/boho patchwork for her granddaughter.

I wanted to get my machine applique completed on the Bible Quilt so I got to that right away.

Carrie resurrected her Lone Cabin quilt top! Love this so much!  We picked up her foot pedal on Saturday.
Here is a link to my finished quilt HERE. I have a the book in my Etsy shop HERE if you are interested.

I heard about a stash sale so we made it there early Saturday.

A stop at the quilt shop was next! Here is The Quilt Basket in Bend. Not overly friendly.

Anvil Sewing in Bend. A lot of machines- friendly staff.

More to come!

And just in case we need a reminder.

Fun On A Friday

Here's a brief recap of my week!

Look at this precious gift my daughter brought home for me from Japan! The little "kit" measures 2 1/4"x1 1/4"! it is tiny! She loved  Japan!!

I'm going to get this on my pack today!

I made a trip into Portland to help Rene with some paperwork and this was my early morning view of Mt Hood!

Out on a walk and I see that this guy made it through another hunting season! What a rack!

We've had amazing sunrises and sunsets this week!!

And I'm continuing to prepare for Guatemala!

But first I'm heading to quilt retreat today!!

Have a fantastic weekend my friends

Tumbling Blocks Quilt Top

I wanted to share this lovely tumbling blocks quilt top! The pieces are quite large but I love that you get a good look at the fabrics!!

mmmm, any thoughts what this would be?

My favorite is the newsie! Anybody see that musical movie? It was a favorite of ours when the kids were growing up! They even went out at Halloween once as newsies!

The colors are vibrant and it is expertly hand stitched! I think I found the perfect home for it!!

Let's have an amazing week!

Looking Back Part 2

Last year started with a retreat and this year is the same! I's a perfect time to be indoors sewing and reconnecting with good friends.

Went to a quilt show and historic Philly in March.

A highlight of 2025 was to go to France with my hubby!

My first time up the Eiffel Tower.

Normandy was incredible!

Got the quilt show in Nantes off the bucket list!

We took another trip to French Polynesia.

I was able to meet many quilters at guild meetings I presented to.

One of those guild meetings also included  my first time in Alabama! I loved it! (PS I would love to visit your guild or quilt group online or in person, no matter where you are!)

Fun times with quilters in Kansas!

I left enough time to do some outdoor activities as well.

Arizona was great!

All of that hiking culminated with a summit of Mt St Helens!

Houston quilt show is the time I meet up with friends! And see great quilts!

Took this photo in Portugal for my daughter who is a hairdresser.

Portugal was beautiful and amazing!

Last but certainly not least! Fun times with family,

Summer at the Oregon coast.  They look pretty bundled up!

Thanksgiving

Christmas.

Don't put off life! Spend time with family and friends. Treasure them. Explore new places and try new things! I feel truly blessed.

Much love to you all!
