Wednesday Catch up!

I went to a Meet the Teacher event in Pleasant Hill, CA this week.

I was thrilled to see my long time friend Nancy! She used to come to the Sisters Outdoor Quilt show and we'd sew, laugh and have a grand time together with a group of ladies. We had a lot of fun times together so it was so lovely to give her a big hug!

Teachers sign up to present and we have 3 minutes to give a spiel to guilds and encourage them to hire you.

A quilt of Guatemala. You know my heart is there!

I only have last year to compare but it was not well attended by teachers or guild board  members this year.

They limit the teachers to 30 and only 16 were there!

This is Sarah Goer who was next to me. Improv seems to be what the CA quilters want. Her quilts were improv and very well constructed. She was very sweet.

And, in other news:

 quick overnight backpacking trip...

Before heading to the city.

Alcatraz Island was so interesting!

Hubby broke out and made it home with me!

Love ya'll! Have a wonderful weekend!

Meet The Teacher

This was a fun event I was able to go to this past week.
Guilds and teachers come to the event and hopefully make a connection and find speakers and teachers for their guilds. This one happens to be the North CA MTT event.

This was so sweet. I met Donna years ago on Bonnie Hunters first quilt cruise! I'm so glad she introduced herself as I wouldn't have remembered since it was a large group on the trip. I'm hoping to visit their guild in August.

These giant flowers and the bridge! Wow! And look at the sunshine!

My son met me there and we had a short but fun trip!

A Vintage Little Quilt

A sweet online friend, Julie, sent me this adorable little quilt top! She saw it at an antique shop and thought of me! Oh my goodness, that touches my heart! Thank you Julie!

The blocks are handpieced. Look at this wonderful print!

The setting squares are machine pieced so I believe that part came later. Love this cheddar on blue print! I want to baste it and quilt it as is!!

I took part in a Meet the Teacher event online this past Saturday. This is where guilds meet teachers to possibly hire for their guild. It was a wonderful event and although most thought travelling to Southern CA was a but too far, it was good to be involved.
This week I'm going to an in-person event! I'm looking forward to that.

I hope you are having a terrific week!
