Buhl Bushong Update

As I mentioned in my Facebook group last week, I've been absent from my sewing room.
The stress of life right now is brutal and I find my solice outdoors. BUT, I did enjoy a rare weekend home and I enjoyed some sewing.

TA-DA! All my rainbow blocks are done!! Well, almost....

I had an incident trimming them up. Here was my fix.

These little buds go in the corner of each block. I hope I can get them to line up when I sew them together. Someone did all 4 corners as one piece, which is a great idea, but I'd like them to be different green prints.

If you would like to know more about this quilt check it out HERE.

Friday I did a group hike with a lovely bunch of ladies.

Here was my view on my way to the trailhead.
It reminds me how much I'll miss the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show this year.  So many disappointments.
Here was our lunch spot!

Sunday was our first live event back at church~
We had to get creative to make it happen in an appropriate and safe way. I LOVED it! It was so good to be back.
We also got news this past week, that our mission trip later this year is cancelled. For those of you that made dresses, please know they will still be used! Just not as soon as I thought.

Much love to you all.  My heart is full this Monday morning!

  1. Life Stress is pretty brutal right now, and I don't want it to become the new "normal"! Sweet blocks, with the Humble repair :) So much snow still on the mountains, beautiful! Stay well...

  2. Your church congregation might have to make that outdoor service a more frequent tradition even after the need is gone. It looks like a wonderful way to come together. Loving how those blocks have turned out. I've done the same kind of repairs too when my trimming went astray.

  5. All beautiful---quilt and hike and church outside! But that aquamarine water! Can you put your hot trail weary feet in it to cool off?

  6. What an incredible place, with lush landscapes! Beautiful photos, thanks for sharing them. Unfortunately, in Brazil we are experiencing difficult times with the pandemic, administrative problems for a very bad chief executive and problems in general. Where you are it feels like paradise, and nothing like the anti-racist movements that we see on television here in Brazil.

I am using your blog to improve my english, so if I make a language mistake, I'm sorry.
I liked the page so much that you won a new follower, I'm the number 1249!
    Hugs!!

  7. Your blocks look fabulous--even with the emergency surgery required. :)
Lovely outdoor scenes, including church. Love that!
Our church divided the congregation into three groups, and we met at three different times so we could sit far apart. There was enough time between meeting groups to disinfect the chapel.

  8. It is good to go outdoors back to nature and leave the stress there. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. I can image you go hiking a lot. Youre sewing room will be there in winter time waiting fot you. Just enjoy the fresh air. Take care.

  11. Sorry for the mission trips getting canceled. Tomorrow, we get to go back to church, too, pretty much like yours (under the trees, outside). No singing unless you are 10 feet apart and wearing masks while singing, and in a special 'singing' area.
