Fun on a Friday!

My design wall is pretty empty these days. The primitive Lone Cabin quilt is at the quilters and summertime isn't the most productive time in my sewing room.

But look at this amazing antique quilt block! I can see this being the center of a sweet medallion quilt.

This was my design wall before putting up that antique block- so stark and empty.

Alas! I'm pulling fabric for the yearly sewawlong! I'll add to these strips, red, green and a stripey brown! I'm hoping to get the top completed this weekend as we will be traveling again next week and would like to have it ready to hand quilt.

If you have your eye on anything in my Etsy shop I'll be putting it on vacation mode Sunday night- here's a link if you'd like to check it out now. As always Thank you so much!

Have a lovely weekend.

Road Trip.... Paducah or Bust

First stop, Nashville!
We got in last so had a good night rest before exploring.
We opted for the hop-on, hop-off bus.

So interesting to see this in Nashville!
The Parthenon in Centennial Park, Nashville, Tennessee, United States, is a full-scale replica of the original Parthenon in Athens, Greece. It was designed by architect William Crawford Smith and built in 1897 as part of the Tennessee Centennial Exposition.

Cumberland River. (Now I want a selvage that says Cumberland!)

The Pickers Nashville antique store.

Marathon Auto Works is a large cool building that houses many little shops and antique displays.

Antique Malls were high on our stops!

"Last Train to Clarksville" is a song by American rock band the Monkees. It was released as the band's debut single on August 16, 1966, and was later included on the group's self-titled album, which was released on October 10, 1966.

Driving through Dover, TN and saw this amazing painted quilt!

Backyard Fabric in Mayfield, KY was GREAT! The day before Paducah show was our day to see as much as we could! This was our first stop.

The white building in the center is the shop! Cute, huh?
Hancock's of Paducah! I was actually surprised to see that many quilters in town on Tuesday before the show.

This is a "quilt" made of wood! It is in the lobby of the quilt museum. That's the next post.

I hope your week is going good.
I let the Facebook group know there are new fabrics and vintage quilt blocks on my Etsy shop. Take a peek if you'd like.

Several of these are already sold out! Sorry!

This is just a sampling of what I've been putting in the store.

Newsy Monday

Good morning!
I'm not sure if/when I mentioned it but I recently helped a daughter clean out some of her mother's quilt room. I was hoping the investment would help fund my next mission trip.
I've committed to going to Uganda this June! I haven't formally been approved but am planning on it for now. Thank you all for the support you've shown me over the last several years!

So, book sales, photography (not my strong point) passport renewal, Etsy shop has been my focus the past several days.

I have a lot of Quiltfolk magazines on Etsy.

Etsy store HERE

A sweet old quilt  made from a quilt kit! The meandering quilting has me thrown off a bit but the quilt is thin, tiny binding and well done. See more photos HERE

See the front of this quilt HERE The hand quilting is really nice.

So charming! See the entire top HERE.

Post Office run today!

Thank you to all who shared about my availability to do a trunk show at your guild!

I've got a couple of new guilds lined up. Thank you!! I'm also available for Zoom if that helps your quilt group.

Yesterday most of our snow finally melted.  Now it's just a mud fest!

Have an amazing week.

My Little Swap Quilt

My little swap quilt has arrived and been seen by Trish. My quilt went all the way to Buenos Aires, Argentina!

It is simple and a little on the primitive side!

Love that print for the backing.

This was the vintage quilt I was inspired by!

The last quilt to arrive went from Australia to Utah, back to Australia and then back to Utah! No fault of the sender! Post office error!! Aargh!

Jan Horn, as soon as you can get a photo of the quilt Susan sent you I'll post it and we can see ALL the quilts in one place!

Below are some new additions to my Etsy store.
All of these are from the line The Union Forever by Judie Rothermel and the New England Quilt Museum. Such awesome fabric!

This line is called Democracy by Sandy Gervais! An oldie for sure!

The link to my Etsy store is on the right column of my blog.

I had a lovely breakfast with my daughter yesterday. We are down to 2 weeks until we leave for Peru!

I hope you have an awesome day!

Stringin Along on A Friday

Here are a couple of finished from the String Quilts class from the guild in WA last month,

This entire quilt finishes about 19"x21".
Someone had commented that EPP would be hard to do but she pieced it! She used the eye spy template to do the strings. Isn't that darling?

I really want to make one of these now!

Good job Laura.

Bobbi made this sweet wheelchair quilt.

It has pockets too lined with flannel to keep your hands warm.
That is really wonderful!
If anyone else wants to share projects they did in class I'd love to see them!

On March 28th I will be presenting, "Reruns, Quilts Inspired by the Past" to the North Idaho Quilters in Hayden, Idaho. The teaching String Quilts the following day.
If anyone is close, please make arrangements to come! I'm really looking forward to it!

I received some awesome fabric! Many of you heard the story on my facebook group so I won't rehash it here. Other than to say Michelle Yeo has designed some beautiful fabric from the antique quilt collection of Bev Bannard and what I ordered arrived yesterday! I'm giving my blog readers and facebook group a special price,

You can get a closer look at them on my Etsy store, but the special pricing is only here.
Check out the prints I have HERE.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Welcome 2022!

Happy New Year!
It was great to take a couple of week break from blogging to close out the year.

Here's a new little quilt I made!

I call it Tea for Two

I used a cute pinwheel shirting on the back.

After washing.

Here's the precious vintage doll quilt I used for inspiration!

And, drum roll.................................
